God’s Work, Our Hands

Sunday, September 8 is an opportunity to celebrate who we are as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America – one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor.  We at Messiah are going to do our part by participating in our third delivery of bags to those experiencing homelessness here in our community.

We will meet at church following the 11:00 service and deliver bags locally to those in need.  Thanks to your generosity with our collection in May there are some items we have in abundance, but below is a list of things we still need.

Possible items to include in your bag(s):

  • Clothing items for men and women – underwear, socks, t-shirts
  • Hygiene items – razors, shaving cream, toothpaste, deodorant, lotion, Chapstick, travel size body wash
  • Snack items – crackers, cereal bars, fruit snacks, Snack on the Run kits (come with tuna and chicken salad), peanuts, mini water bottles
  • Gift cards – Wawa, McDonald’s, or Dunkin Donuts in the amount of $5 or $10

If you are interested in joining us on September 8th please email me so I can send you additional details about where we will be going and answer any questions you may have; madiandmak@comcast.net or 484-798-9087. Please return all bags by Sunday, September 1st.
