Throughout history, pride has been recognized as the deadliest of vices. Today, it is almost celebrated as a virtue. Pride and arrogance are conspicuous among the rich, the powerful, the famous, and even some religious leaders. It is also alive and well in each of us. Yet few of us realize how dangerous it is to our souls and how greatly it hinders our intimacy with God and others. Humility, on the other hand, is often seen as weakness, and few of us know much about it or pursue it. The Bible is filled with stories of prideful people causing great harm to others, their communities, and themselves. How do we forsake the one and embrace the other?
Join us for a Lenten Bible study to learn more about pride and humility. We’ll study stories from Scripture that bear an amazing resemblance to situations occurring in our world and our lives today.
We’ll meet on six Mondays, beginning February 15. Choose the 10 AM or 7 PM class. Sign-up sheets are located near the card ministry table. All are welcome!
