Starting Tuesday, October 3 at 7:15 PM, moms of young children are invited to the bible study Beautiful Mess: Motherhood for Every Moment. We’ll explore questions like, “How can I love this Mess?”, “How can I find me in the Mess?”, and “What does God want to say to me?”

Grove Methodist Church on Boot Road in West Chester is offering a 10-week course titled An Introduction to Islam and Muslims through History and Scripture beginning on September 17. This course is being taught by a teacher and Islam scholar who is active in interfaith initiatives and has been a Pennsylvania resident for 30 years.  This will take place on 10 consecutive Sunday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30.  All attendees are encouraged to come between 6:00 and 6:30 for coffee and conversation.  This course will include active conversation where questions are encouraged and is open to all people.

What defines Christianity? Is it more a set of beliefs, or is it more the way we practice Jesus’ way of love in the world? Brian McLaren, a pastor, author, and leading voice in contemporary religion has written a book, The Great Spiritual Migration that offers insight, wisdom, & challenging new ways of living more like Jesus. The book explores deepening our understanding of God—specifically God’s relation to violence—and how we represent Jesus’ love in our world.

I will be leading this study on Tuesdays, covering one chapter a week, for 12 weeks. If you are interested in being a part of this, you need to purchase the book.
