Matthew 2:10-11 NLT
“When they saw the star, they were filled with joy! They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.“
Star…Joy…Worship…Gifts. Wise Men from the East were guided by a very special star to Jesus. Can I be a star to guide someone to Jesus during this Advent Season? This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine!
The joy that filled the Magi after their long journey must have been amazing! Can my actions encourage someone to start a journey with The Messiah that will bring them great joy? Joy to the world, the Savior reigns!
When the Wise Men arrived at the house Jesus was a baby, yet these learned travelers bowed down and worshipped Him. They believed He was the King for whom Israel had been waiting. Here I am to bow down, here I am to worship, here I am to say that you’re my God!
What is my gift to Jesus? What can be as precious as the gold, frankincense, and myrrh that He received two thousand years ago? This week’s theme is LOVE. I will love Jesus by acts of love toward God’s creation. And they’ll know we are Christians by our love!
Prayer: Father in Heaven, I pray that all may know the joy that filled the Wise Men.
