Keeping the Momentum of Lent Going!

It’s been a cold and harsh winter! Be safe and God warm you!

It’s been hard to keep the momentum of Lent going with the conditions as they are!

Saturday night worship wasn’t held – but thank God for the conscientiousness of Beth and Greg Rossi who drove from Malvern to do their ministries of altar guild and lay reader.  But only Kurt and Betsy Heinbaugh were able to show up for worship! Sunday we had three great worship services and again many made special efforts (like the Ernsts, the Barrys and others) or driving great distances (Kathy Hoffman) to get here for their ministries. But with the best will in the world, many couldn’t make it for the first Sunday in Lent.

To get into the momentum of Lent I am attaching Sunday’s sermon and putting a special prayer below – and of course remember Compline this Wednesday.

God keep you all safe, I love you,

Canticle
Christ, as a light
illumine and guide me.
Christ, as a shield
overshadow me.
Christ under me;
Christ over me;
Christ beside me
on my left and my right.
This day be within and without me,
lowly and meek, yet all-powerful.
Be in the heart of each to whom I speak;
in the mouth of each who speaks unto me.
This day be within and without me,
lowly and meek, yet all-powerful.
Christ as a light;
Christ as a shield;
Christ beside me
on my left and my right.
